Igloo helps out on The Apprentice (BBC One)

Igloo was featured on Episode 6 of the eighth series of the popular BBC One show The Apprentice where the candidates were required to make and sell gourmet food on the streets of Edinburgh.

Igloo provided temperature controlled logistical support for both teams during the venture.

Igloo Distribution Planning System

We are now into the 2nd month using our new planning system called DiPs, an industry leading distribution planning system which will further increase route and journey efficiency.

This has allowed us to go further afield opening new routes across the UK to increase coverage and ensure that our customers have a fully temperature controlled network.

Igloo delivers into Westfield Stratford

Igloo Thermo Logistics is registered on the Westfield Dock Management System (DMS) allowing us to book deliveries into the shopping centre. Please note that Westfield procedures require all deliveries to be booked in by 17:30 the day before but we can book on-going deliveries for up to 12 weeks in advance.

Last year saw some of the most difficult trading conditions for a decade in the UK. The worldwide recession, coupled with the highest inflation rate for 5 years and the rising cost of fuel meant that conditions were tough for all companies within the transport sectors.

Igloo opens up Ireland!

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new Ireland route which will run weekly to Dublin and Belfast. This is to strengthen our current coverage across the British Isles. The service started last week and has already been a great success with both existing and new customers. This is a fully trialled route which allows us to extend our MHRA accredited service further afield.

Increased frozen storage capacity

Our frozen storage capacity has now been increased by 30% as part of our ongoing strategic review of warehouse operations and comes on top of the 150% increase in ambient storage capacity completed earlier in the year.

This increased capacity helps to improve the turnaround times of orders due to the increased efficiency of warehouse stock management and order picking thus providing a direct benefit to our customers.
