Maximum liability accepted for goods in transit is £1.30 per kilo, please arrange your own insurance if you require additional cover (full T&Cs)                                  

The default time windows are 9am - 5pm for collections and deliveries and bookings must be confirmed by 3pm the day before collection at the latest (or Friday for a Monday collection).

Maximum pallet height is 1.4m, unless otherwise agreed, and maximum box size is 50cm3 with a max weight of 20kg per box.

We cannot accept loose bags as they will travel in a consolidated service, all product must be sealed in a box.

Correct weight must be given at the point of booking, incorrect weights will incur additional charges.

All product must be labelled (these will be emailed with the booking confirmation).

We can wait on site for a maximum of 15 minutes, please provide suitable contact information so we can reduce this time as much as possible.

How much notice do I need to give to make a booking?

We accept orders up to 5pm. Without a booking confirmation email a booking cannot be assumed to be confirmed.

Same day orders can be placed at any time but are dependent upon vehicle availability.

How do I know when my delivery has been made?

Igloo customers have the option to receive job completion and electronic proof of delivery via email. All consignments are signed for electronically and ePODs are available within minutes of job completion.

What temperature monitoring do you do?

All our vehicles and storage facilities are installed with equipment to continuously measure and record chamber temperatures during operation with alarm notifications in the event of temperature deviation. In addition to this our vehicles and storage facilities are temperature mapped to ensure an even temperature throughout the chambers.

Will my products be kept in temperature even if it’s delivered the next day?

Yes, Igloo operates a complete cold chain including refrigerated vehicles and chilled and frozen storage facilities at all of our depots. You can be assured that your products will be kept within the necessary temperature range for the whole time they are in transit and storage by Igloo.

How do I know my consignment has been kept in temperature?

All Igloo vehicles and storage facilities are fitted with live temperature monitoring and recording equipment meaning that full temperature information specific to your consignment is available upon on request.

Can you do chilled and frozen deliveries?

Yes, we can transport goods within your required temperature range, typically -25°C to -15°C for frozen and 0°C to 5°C for chilled..

Are all of your vehicles refrigerated?

Yes, our entire fleet of vans and HGVs are equipped for the transportation of refrigerated goods and can operate with multi temperature chambers, both frozen and chilled.

Do you do morning deliveries?

Yes, Igloo offers a 24 hour service and will collect and deliver in the time window you request, including morning deliveries. Typically time constraints will be factored into the price you pay, but this is subject to your exact requirements including the delivery location and volume.

Do you do same day deliveries?

Yes, these are subject to vehicle availability on the day depending on your time and location requirements.

Can I request a specific delivery window?

Yes, Igloo can offer a whole range of collection and delivery windows subject to your requirements. To benefit from our most competitive prices the more flexible and wider the collection and delivery window, the cheaper our service will be.

What areas do you cover?

Igloo offers a nationwide service covering all areas of the UK across the week with a daily service to the major cities and conurbations. As we continue to grow our network we will be able to increase the frequency of our service to outlying regions.

Do you offer refrigerated storage?

Yes, all of Igloo’s depots have both chilled and frozen storage facilities primarily for the purpose of storing products in transit with typical stock turn of just a few days. However, Igloo can also offer long term refrigerated storage providing the inbound and outbound transportation with regional storage partners.

Will my goods be secure?

Yes, all of our sites are on secure industrial trading estates with high security fencing, restricted access, CCTV; alarm systems, and high bay security lighting; the internal storage areas are also locked and our sites are manned 24 hours per day by trusted employees who have been background checked and are trained in security SOPs.

How long has Igloo been trading?

Igloo has been serving the refrigerated transport requirements of the UK’s food industry for over 20 years, during which time the founding principle to provide flexible solutions to the transportation needs of our customers has been maintained as we continue to grow in scale and efficiency.

What accreditations do you have?

Igloo is accredited by the BRC, MHRA and ISO9001 certified for quality.

What training do your drivers and warehouse staff have?

All Igloo employees are trained in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relevant to their specific jobs and this is a requirement of our MHRA accreditation. For example our drivers are trained in vehicle cleaning and maintenance, collections and deliveries including how to deal with failed deliveries and unidentified parcels, customer returns, damages and losses, security and Good Distribution Practice (GDP) for Pharmaceuticals.
