Igloo 2011 Review

Last year saw some of the most difficult trading conditions for a decade in the UK.  The worldwide recession, coupled with the highest inflation rate for 5 years and the rising cost of fuel meant that conditions were tough for all companies within the transport sectors.

These tough conditions however, meant that like many other businesses we had to ensure that we were effectively utilising our resources.  Throughout 2011 we undertook different measures to ensure that we were running as efficiently as possible and that we could remain competitive with the rest of the industry on price.  These include;

• Upgrading our fleet to ensure that our vehicles were operating to the best possible standards and to reduce our overall fuel consumption.
• Merging the transport & customer service teams to ensure a better service is available along with quicker and more accurate information availability.
• Achieving the MHRA accreditation to further prove the extremely high standards that we operate to and allowing us to continue to expand into the pharmaceutical sector.
• Expanding our network to include deliveries to most major cities on a minimum of 4 days per week.
• All driving, warehouse and office staff trained in Good Distribution Practice (GDP) to improve delivery performance and continuing to ensure that your goods arrive on time and in perfect condition.
• The rebranding of the company in particular our new logo which can be seen on all the new vehicles, now comprising the majority of our fleet.
• Brand new websites for both the food and pharmaceutical sectors and the introduction of live web chat to allow easier communication with our customer service and transport teams.
